The Pilatus PC-6 Porter and the Turbo Porter, best known under the name "Pilatus Porter", is a STOL (short take off and landing) and multi-purpose airplane designed and built since 1959 by Pilatus Aircraft Ltd in Stans, Switzerland.
The outstanding features of the small transporter are: extremely short take off and landing distances (a football field is sufficient), remarkable climbing performance, high robustness, large additional load in relation to the dead weight. The PC-6 Porter is usable for almost each function and indicates an impressing area of operations: Pax and material transport, medical and emergency service, measurement and photo flights, with spraying equipment for agricultural work and for fire fighting. It can land equipped with skis on glaciers and with floats on water and it's an ideal airplane for parachuting.
